Long overdue

I know, I know, I haven't updated in a while.

Here's the short story:

My surgery went very well. I was in the hospital for three weeks. I came home right before Christmas. Since I've been home, my sister has been helping me/us by doing stuff that involves bending over such as dishes, laundry, stuff with puppies, etc. She's been a huge help. I'm starting to bend over better now but it just all depends on the day. My doctors so far have been very happy with my progress.

Jump to 1/24/13: I go to my Urologist to get the stents taken out of my ileostomy. They come out fine, he's happy, says that my kidneys may spasm for a bit but other than that, he'll see me in six months. Yeah, right. Not with my luck. Later that evening, I start vomiting. I initially attribute it to taking some pain pills on an empty stomach. However, even after the pain pills wear off, the vomiting continues. I can't even keep water down. So, I talk to my Urologist. He tells me to go to the E.R., something is wrong and is probably attributed to him taking out the stints. YAY! After seven hours in the E.R., they come in and say they are admitting me for a SEVERE kidney/urinary tract infection. Apparently, those stints grew a lot of bacterial bugs and when they were taken out the bugs said "nope we like it better here, we're staying!". So, I got to spend Friday night through Tuesday evening in the hospital. Just what I wanted to do after being home from a three week stay for only a month. Now, I see my Oncologist tomorrow and it worries me. I noticed yesterday that my colostomy doesn't look and isn't working exactly like it should. You know what that means kids: more surgery and more hospital stays. YAY! It's not 100% but again, with my luck, I'll be back in the hospital either in the next few days or next week. Keep your fingers crossed.

By the way, if you have the choice, DO NOT stay at the Baylor hospital in Irving. They are slow, they don't listen and they don't check your name/birthdate BEFORE they give you meds etc. like they are supposed to. The only thing good I can give them is that their food isn't bad.
