Last night was terrible. I couldn't sleep because I was nauseous or I was up getting sick. Now I know that I definitely need to take the medication. I would have this week if the insurance company wouldn't have needed an extra authorization that I didn't know about. I haven't been sick in such a long time, now I remember exactly how much it sucks. Nothings worse than that loss of control over your own body. I don't understand how someone can be bulimic and make themselves do that on purpose.
Other than that, the only thing to report is some minor radiation burns in an uncomfortable area. Here's hoping that the creams and gels continue to work.
It all began with my two journeys fighting Stage 4 Cervical Cancer. Now, this is a blog to talk about family and different craft projects that I'm working on. Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesdays
So I asked the Doc for help with not sleeping well and he gave me a prescription for Ambien. I'm such a dumb-ass, I dropped if off at the pharmacy and didn't go back to pick it up. So, last night, I slept HORRIBLY. I can barely keep my eyes open but I can't fall back to sleep. It sucks.
On the flip side, after waiting an hour in a packed waiting room, I finally got into my doc's office. Treatment went by quickly and I actually got done before I thought I would. No side effects yet except for the lack of sleep which of course causes crankiness.
Love to all <3

Sorry for the delay
I know a lot of you have been wondering how Monday went. I'm sorry for the delay, I've been spending time with my niece while she is on spring break.
Instead of it lasting three hours, it lasted a total of 4 1/2 hours between lab work, doctor visit and treatment. I just sat there reading my book and doing puzzles. I got really hungry (people bringing in lunch didn't help) but now that I know that I can take food with me, next week should be better. At least Ron had a half of a sandwich left from his lunch.
I haven't really had any side effects yet. I've only had a couple of mild twinges of nausea but when I have taken the prescription that they gave me they have gone away quickly.
Everything else is going good. I'm feeling fine, not many side effects over all. I may not get many from the chemotherapy. My doctor said it is a low dose. Most people do not lose their hair with the particular drug I'm on, and with the different medications I'm on, I shouldn't have much nausea even though it is still possible. The radiation is going fine. Still going everyday and nothing new to report.
I've been told by many that you haven't been able to comment on here. If that is the case, please feel free to email me at trp99@msn.com with any comments or questions you may have. I apologize if my settings are not done correctly.
Thank you again for all of the well wishes. I really appreciate it. I hope everyone is doing well.

Tried to put on FB but it wouldn't work...
If you are 36, or older, you might think this is hilarious!
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... Barefoot... BOTH ways...yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way I was going to lay a bunch of stuff like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that I'm over the ripe old age of forty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a Utopia! And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!
1) I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have the Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
2) There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox, and it would take like a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!
3) Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our butts! Nowhere was safe!
4) There were no MP3's or Napsters or iTunes! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself!
5) Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio, and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished, and then the tape would come undone rendering it useless. Cause, hey, that's how we rolled, Baby! Dig?
6) We didn't have fancy stuff like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called, they got a busy signal, that's it!
7) There weren't any freakin' cell phones either. If you left the house, you just didn't make a call or receive one. You actually had to be out of touch with your "friends". OH MY GOSH !!! Think of the horror... not being in touch with someone 24/7!!! And then there's TEXTING. Yeah, right. Please! You kids have no idea how annoying you are.
8) And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your parents, your boss, your bookie,... you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
9) We didn't have any fancy PlayStation or Xbox video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your screen guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen.. Forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
10) You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your butt and walk over to the TV to change the channel!!! NO REMOTES!!! Oh, no, what's the world coming to?!?!
11) There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying? We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rug rats!
12) And we didn't have microwaves. If we wanted to heat something up, we had to use the stove! Imagine that!
13) And our parents told us to stay outside and play... all day long. Oh, no, no electronics to soothe and comfort. And if you came back inside... you were doing chores!
And car seats - oh, please! Mom threw you in the back seat and you hung on. If you were lucky, you got the "safety arm" across the chest at the last moment if she had to stop suddenly, and if your head hit the dashboard, well that was your fault for calling "shot gun" in the first place!
Editors note...our dishwasher was used to store stuff, I was the dishwasher. I had to do more than just load/reload...
See! That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled rotten! You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1970 or any time before!
Regards,
People who think you are spoiled!

Chemo
I saw my oncologist yesterday. I will be starting a low dose of chemo on Monday. I will have a total of five treatments for the next five weeks. He said it will last three hours each time (UGH). Thank goodness I have my Nook and like crossword puzzles. Maybe I can talk Ron into letting me borrow his Ipad while I'm in there as well....a girl can try LOL
My dad has been here all week and I can't express to him how much it has meant to me. Ron's also been helping me out throughout this difficult week. He gave me some of the most beautiful flowers that I've ever received. (picture below)
I want to apologize to those closest to me in advance. If you know me well, you know I do NOT make a very good sick person...if I am bitchy in the coming weeks I'm sorry. All I ask is that you put up with me for a bit while I try to get through this.
Love to all <3
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

It's official :(
I talked to the doctor today and received my MRI results. The cancer has spread to my sacrum which is part of the tail bone. He said that I am being treated for it already but we won't know how well my treatments will get rid of the cancer until I have surgery in 5-6 weeks. This also puts me at a higher risk for the cancer recurring elsewhere in my body.
Also, I go in this Thursday, I go into the oncologists office to start the lab work to begin chemotherapy. I will find out more regarding chemo (i.e. duration, etc) then.
Ok, it's time for me to go lay down. I hope everyone else is having a better day than I am.

Choose Hope
A lot of people have seen my wrap around bracelet and liked it and asked me where to get it.
The website is www.choosehope.com They have many different items for support of all types of cancer. The colors for cervical cancer are teal/white. Have a great day!

Thank you
I put this on Facebook but I know several of you are not on there. I wanted to be sure to share this with you all.
I feel like the most fortunate woman to have met the people that have come into my life since I have moved to Irving. I could not ask for more sincere people that show me every day, no matter the circumstances, how much I am loved and cared about. Thank you all for your love and support, I can't express in words how much it means to me and how much I love you all ♥
My radiation therapy starts today and will continue everyday M-F at noon for the next 28 weekdays.
Thanks again to everyone who has offered their help. Ron and I really appreciate it. My Dad is here all week to help take me to my appointments and then we will figure out how to get to and from when he leaves. We haven't discussed it yet.
When I know more details, I will let you know.

Tattoo :(
I had my CT scan today so they can set up my radiation treatments. After the scan she put three tattooed dots on me to line up the machine during treatments :( It's not that it hurt but if I wanted a tattoo, I would have had one by now. At least they are small.
I go in Friday to do my "dry-run" and then begin everything on Monday. I don't know the schedule of my chemo yet. I hope to find out when I start and for how long I take it on Friday. All I know right now is that I will have chemo every Monday and radiation M-F for 23 sessions (5 1/2 weeks).
If you have any questions, leave a comment and I will try to answer them.
